Did you know that everything we play we say? Within an introductory workshop, Anita covers concepts such as: the language of tabla, the construction of a set of tabla, and important tabla terminology and concepts. Each participant will get hands on experience playing tabla with drums provided in the workshop.

Tabla sets will be provided to each participant. This workshop is well suited to children 7 and older as well as adults. The workshop will be limited to 5 participants.

I’m thrilled to announce a workshop led by Pandit Subhen Chatterjee (tabla) on Tuesday March 19th at 7pm. He will be playing a concert presented by Raag-Mala Toronto on the previous Saturday at the Aga Khan museum. Pt Subhen Chatterjee is a senior disciple and the first student of the legendary Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, in addition to being a celebrated tabla player and an enthusiastic teacher.
