Within this workshop you will learn about:
– Terminology – How to refer to parts of the tabla and baya.
– Tala – A rhythmic system used in North Indian classical music.
– Recitation – Vocalizing rhythms using tabla “language” or bols.
– Kayda – A tabla composition. We will recite and play the theme.
Tabla sets will be provided to each participant. This workshop is well suited to children 7 and older as well as adults. The workshop will be limited to 5 participants.
